Web Editor/Online Product Marketing, part time

Our client is a global independent business services organisation which enables businesses, governments and other organisations to increase profits and market access, and to enhance reputation with its standards-based solutions and assurance services.

Position: Online Product Editor
Hours: Part time (0.5 FTE) 12 month fixed term contract
Salary: £26k - £30k Pro rata
Location: Chiswick

ROLE:
The Web Editor will editorially maintain the currency, accuracy and completeness of content for one or more Online Products and be actively involved in the on-going development of the Online Product(s) and the testing of new functional releases.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
a) The Web Editor will monitor and identify new and updated content for inclusion in the online product.
b) Perform pre- or post-conversion editorial work on content used within the online product.
c) Work with Product Data to ensure database records and Link Map data are kept current, accurate and complete for content published or referenced within the online product.
d) Run weekly Crystal Reports and validate identified content items with relevant Sector team.
e) Obtain content from file locations and coordinate the transfer of relevant items for conversion.
f) Define, implement and monitor operational focused business reports required to maintain currency of a product.
g) Maintain procedural documentation for the portfolio of the business processes operated, periodically reviewing each process and updating as required.
h) Populate and maintain their repository of digital assets and associated metadata (text, illustrative, rich media).

ESSENTIAL SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
a) Experience of maintaining content sets that are periodically updated.
b) Working with single source and structured data (Word, XML, XHMTL, and HTML etc), conversion technologies, data feeds and delivery mechanisms.
c) Defining and maintaining procedural documentation for a portfolio of business processes.
d) Creating/maintaining digital asset repository and working with digital assets (text, illustrative, rich media).
e) Strong Editorial and publishing skills.
f) Strong interpersonal, influencing skills and effective verbal and written communication skills.
g) Experience of Project Management.

DESIRABLE SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
a) Experience of working with National, European and International Standards.
b) Working with Content Management Systems and/or Workflow Management Systems.
c) Knowledge of software and/or online product development processes.
d) Experience of National and European legislation data.
e) Defining reports from data.
