Position Summary:
The Webmaster monitors and oversees the client's web site daily to ensure accuracy, timeliness, relevance, functionality, and availability of the web site. The Webmaster acts as a liaison between the Content Management System technology and the content creators to ensure information and requested design elements are deployed as requested.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Oversee overall website functionality daily to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and relevance, including creating and maintaining pages, links, and web forms on the client's Web site. Maintain menus, indexes, and directories for the site. 25%
  • Create and maintain page structures on the client website. In collaboration with other client offices, write and develop web content structures, consistently review the Web site and make recommendations for improvement. 20%
  • Implement and support the organization, navigation, development, and maintenance of the client's website working directly with web content users, developers, administrators and other web systems staff to develop functional, effective, intuitive, user-friendly sub sites. M aintain a list of webpage coordinators and user information per department or organization. 20%
  • Coordinate website initiatives, including creating and maintaining a web development schedule/calendar of updates/revisions identifying priorities, meeting with internal departments and organizations to assist in the development of pages/microsites. 15%
  • Run web statistics reports and distribute to Web and Technology Governance Committees and the Office of Marketing and Communication. Review the effectiveness and usability of the client's website from the audience's point of view through these statistics, surveys, and general feedback. 10%
  • Create and maintain full documentation of all aspects of the client's web site implementation, including the organization, navigation, development, and change management. 10%
  • Other Functions:

    Serve on the client's Web committee and provide technical guidance for web initiatives.

    Provide technical support for other departmental IT team members or end-users with usability and navigation issues related to the client's web site. Provide second-level support to the client's Service Desk.

    Minimum Job Requirements:

    Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Web Design or equivalent education and training.

    Experience: 4+ years of website design and development using an industry-standard c ontent management system (PaperThin CommonSpot experience preferred).

    Specific Skills:

    Background in coordinating and migrating old website content into a CMS tool.

    Must exhibit practical knowledge of Quality Assurance (QA) and project management competencies to drive all website projects.

    Proficiency performing tier-1 web and portal support.

    Well versed in designing, creating, publishing and managing web content using a Content Management System tool [templates, custom elements, forms, datasheets,workflow/approvals, site administration], web authoring and editing software [Dreamweaver, FrontPage, Flash], web programming [CSS, HTML, ASP, XML, XSLT, CFML, ColdFusion], Scripting [VBScript, JavaScript, CFScript].

    Experience with web log analytic tools such as WebTrends or Google Analytics.

    SQL Query language is a plus.

    Specific Knowledge, Licenses, and Certifications: Webmaster Certification preferable or equivalent technical training related to website design, maintenance, and support.
