Finance Analyst - Edinburgh - Contract - £p/d
My financial services client is looking for a Finance Analyst to join their financial control team on an 3-6 month contract in Edinburgh.
The role:
* Accurate and timely financial reporting, including management reporting.
* Preparation and posting of monthly journals for accruals, prepayments and other adjustments, ensuring they are properly authorised and reported.
* First level review and reporting of the monthly P&L, spot and average balance sheets liaising with Decision Support to understand and interpret monthly results.
* Monthly balance sheet reconciliation and substantiation to ensure that all balances are fully understood and substantiated and that issues are escalated and resolved promptly.
* Other reporting including SDPs and manual returns, VAT returns, intercompany reporting, RWA reporting and securitisation reporting.
* Preparation of returns and analysis of monthly scheme income and costs as well as responding to queries from the business and scheme providers on data submitted.
* Continuous improvement activity including working with other teams to ensure best practice is implemented across Retail Financial Control.
* Liaising with auditors to ensure completion of interim and final audits and resolution of all audit points in a timely manner.
* Ad-hoc reporting and projects.
Experience:
Previous Financial Control experience, preferably in Financial Services.
Actively working towards completing a Professional Accounting Qualification.
Experience of working as part of a team, building and maintaining robust relationships.
The ability to build strong working relationships with a variety of stakeholders and customers.
The ability to deliver high quality outputs to tight deadlines in a changing environment.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
Good working knowledge of Excel.
Knowledge of Walker, Hyperion, TM1, UKBMIS, and Business Objects is desirable.
