Project Manager

This role requires a person with a strong project management and a technical systems background with a successful track record of delivering technical risk assessments, capacity plans, project plans and operational support. This person will work closely with Manager and Performance Architect. He/She will be responsible for managing and technically leading one or more team(s) during an entire project life cycle, as well as responsible for one or more key technology areas.

This person must guide a very technical team of performance specialists to leverage their skills to provide appropriate performance engineering recommendations and solutions. He or she must lead and motivate project teams to analyze performance issues and support the team in delivering inventive solutions for performance problems.

Directs the business analyst and highly technical individual contributors, possibly across departments or units, in a functional or geographic area including external resources and/or matrixed employees.

This person must be familiar with leading practices in risk assessments (analytical, simulation and full end-to-end testing). Additionally, in this role, the Project Manager is also a key technical lead for performance analyst, modelers and engineers. The Project Manager will interact with end-users, business unit leaders, and partners to ensure high relationship development, leadership and coordination.

He or she must also have excellent consultative and communication skills with the ability to facilitate meetings across various client disciplines including business partners.

Possessing a strong analytical ability and experience with healthcare information systems, and industry performance standards are a plus.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties

Lead project analysis and definition
Supervises employees performing individual tasks related to technical track. Supervises contractors, offshore resources, and matrixed employees.
Develop, manages, and tracks detailed project plans to ensure timely completion of deliverables.
Manages scope
Manages risks and assumptions; Identifies and resolves project issues.
Select and manage project team members; Leverages knowledge and provides consulting expertise on Program and Project Management methodology, skills, and tools.
Coordinate work for performance engineers and performance analysts to accomplish appropriate performance risk assessment tasks
o Conduct business analysis
o Create performance use cases and test plan
o Execute performance test simulations
o Analysis/creation performance test results and recommendations
Review test plans/test cases/test results, and provide performance recommendation to the project team.
Mentor and development of target staff members.
Accountable for the success criteria, development, publication and updating of program/project deliverables
Communicate project status to appropriate management levels
Control project scope, budget and delivery of assigned projects
Ensures necessary performance and capacity processes are followed
Act as a liaison with vendor performance testing group(s)

Qualifications
Requires 5+ years experience of managing small-to-medium scale projects and teams
Proven track record of producing and meeting plans and schedules for variety of technical projects
Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
Experience with Performance Testing Tools (LoadRunner, etc.)
Bachelor's degree. Masters degree preferred. PMP certification a plus.
Certification or deep technical expertise in a key technology of client
Experience working in a fast-paced, rapid-growth technical operations environment
Personable and diplomatic team player, with the ability to manage, motivate and work well in a team environment
