EPIC Developer: (Orange County, CA) -Fountain Valley
Currently seeking a Reporting Developer to develop and maintain Financial, Administrative, Scheduling, and Revenue Cycle reports based on data stored in our world-class Electronic Health Record system (Epic).
These reports will be written using Crystal, Oracle, Business Objects Web-i, KB-SQL, and Epic's proprietary reporting systems (Reporting Workbench, Chronicles, etc).
This position will function as Information Services' key point of user contact and customer service regarding the development of clinical reports, and be accountable for user satisfaction in addition to accurate development of high quality reports.
Involves education and interaction with report requestors (management, physicians, nurses, etc.) concerning the purpose, features, functions and use of new and existing reports and reporting tools, eg, Reporting Workbench, MyEpic, Chronicles Ad Hoc Search. Duties include designing/distributing Epic reports for Ambulatory physician clinics, both Clinical and (primarily) Financial reports, in addition to daily Operations reports. Additional responsibilities include developing departmental policies/procedures, training junior staff members, preparing analytical reports and making recommendations to management.
This position ideally requires 7-10 years experience as a Senior Systems Analyst, Report Author, Project Manager or equivalent business knowledge with a minimum of 3-5 years directly related project management experience.
Healthcare report writing experience strongly preferred; healthcare project management experience would be a plus.
The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's or advanced degree in CS, IS, Healthcare Informatics, or a related field. Licensed healthcare professional qualifications are a plus.
Knowledge of ambulatory business workflows - clinical, financial, and operational - is essential; Epic reporting experience strongly preferred.
You must possess in-depth understanding of key healthcare business and information management applications, as well as current working knowledge of emerging technologies, collaborative computing tools, re-engineering/process improvement techniques, and the laws/regulations affecting the industry.
Experience with report writing tools (Crystal Reports, Business Objects, Cognos) is essential, as are strong problem-solving, analytical and verbal/written communication skills. Ability to work effectively under deadline pressure is a must.
