Description
Our clients is now in search of a Senior Systems Engineer with extensive UNIX/Red Hat Linux experience to join its large global organisation to be responsible for the engineering processes and the development of new solutions and services. You will have overall responsibility for the successful planning and execution of the current end to end project.
Responsibilities:
- Install software, apply patches, manage file systems, monitor performance and troubleshoot alerts from commercial and locally developed monitoring tools.
- System failure analysis and recovery; insuring the consistency and integrity of file systems.
- Build/support Solaris, VCS/GCO, Linux RHEL instances
- Liaison with client offices, operations personnel, and field service personnel; interact directly with customers to negotiate solutions and implementation specifics.
- Manage and lead hardware and software migration and upgrade efforts of varying size and complexity
Skill's and Requirements:
- VMWare, VCS/GCO, Solaris, Red Hat, HPUX, Linux, Unix, Veritas Storage Foundation, Veritas Cluster Service, NFS, SAN, Networking, Infrastructure Architecture, Amazon Web Services, ec2, Data Modeling, Troubleshooting, High Availability, High Scalability, Python
- In-depth knowledge of Solaris, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, HPUX
- Working knowledge of Veritas Storage Foundation, Veritas Cluster Service, NFS, SAN, Networking
- 5 years professional systems maintenance experience in a Unix data center environment
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Strong experience with system management tools, logical file systems, and Client Server environments.
- Knowledge of VCS/GCO
- VMware
- Strong Shell programming expertise
- Strong troubleshooting skills
