Our client is a hugely popular online travel services provider. Right now this company has a great contract offering to be an important part of a growing team using the latest technology to improve customer experience across voice, web, and mobile platforms, empowering millions of travelers.
We're looking for a motivated, energetic individual who is capable of delivering Contact Center related applications. As a Software Design Engineer, you'll be a key member of the team that is responsible for building and maintaining applications and interfaces to this client's contact centers.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Act as an integral member in the design, analysis, development and deployment efforts for multiple enterprise application projects to solve complex business problems
- Participate in projects to produce scalable, flexible, efficient and supportable solutions with appropriate technical solutions which will include C#, ASP.NET, JavaScript and jQuery
- Support and follow the client's Software Development Lifecycle
- Collaborate with Developers, Program Managers, Testers and Production Support Engineers to implement technical requirements
- Improve the enterprise systems by leveraging existing solutions and building new technology
- Develop components of Front End applications and tools
- Play a direct role in programming, maintenance, technical support, documentation, and administration of the applications
- Design, spec, schedule, and provide quality implementation of a component or feature (typically 1-3 months in duration).
- Effectively resolve problems and roadblocks as they occur.
- Consistently follow through on details and drive issues to closure.
- Provide written design documents and unit test results.
- Actively participate in group technology reviews to critique work of self and others
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 3+ years of development experience using C#, ASP.NET, JavaScript, jQuery
- Experience with design and development in the .NET framework and medium scale C# web applications
- Background and general understanding of data modelling/data structures
- Knowledge of latest enhancements and features of .NET technology (WCF, WPF, WWF, MVC, MVVM) a plus
- Experience working on Windows platforms
- BA/BS degree in technical field or related discipline preferred
- Ability to describe UI and IT requirements based on an understanding of business requirements
- Knowledge of user-centered design principles
- Ability to learn quickly, master existing systems and identify opportunities for improvement
- Self-starter that enjoys and takes pride in the development work of their team
- Effective verbal and written communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic, collaborative and fast paced environment
- Good interpersonal skills as well as strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Passion for building high-quality software quickly through iterative development
- ASP.NET, MVC3, and/or SOAP a plus
This is a 7 month contract position with possibility of extension.
