SQA Architect III - Chattanooga, TN

Position Overview:

The SQA Architect III works closely with other SQA personnel, developers, and business analysts to define, prioritize and communicate testing requirements, test results, and status of SQA related tasks. The SQA Architect III also works closely with the SQA Manager and the Lead SQA Architect to develop testing framework and ensure adherence to these policies; manage defect tracking; and mentor SQA personnel in testing processes and procedures.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop automation harnesses, testing extensions, and automation libraries
  • Review needs and specifications for scenarios requiring automation and tools to improve test coverage
  • Review current test plans, test cases, and test procedures and provide automation wherever possible
  • Maintain existing automation scripts and potentially rewrite the scripts using other automation tools
  • Design and develop new performance, load, data set, application and simulation tools
  • Design and develop interactive results analysis viewers
  • Track quality assurance metrics and provide code coverage analysis metrics
  • Define and enhance processes methodologies
  • Ensure established standards, processes and procedures are used consistently throughout the release life cycle
  • Write efficient, easy to follow documentation on all tools, scripts and processes
  • Maintain existing and new SQA environments and repositories
  • Understand and gather project requirements from the customer, both internal and external, creating and reviewing specification artifacts
  • Execute and report results of entire project

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience
  • 5 years experience in Software Quality Assurance (SQA)
  • 2+ years of coding experience with SQA automation tools
  • Experience with commercial/enterprise performance and reliability testing/load generation tools such as HP/Mercury or Rational or similar
  • Alternatively, working knowledge of open source performance/load generation tools like JMeter, WebLoad, OpenSTA
  • Experience creating test data, obfuscating data, and de-identifying data
  • Expert at testing Relational Databases and creating SQL queries
  • Experience testing applications where no GUI testing was involved; all testing was Back End processing, file processing, and/or interfaces between systems
  • Above average experience with Windows, Unix, and Mainframe operating systems
  • Experience working in an iterative development environment such as Agile/XP
  • Experience implementing processes and procedures using IT industry standards (ie, ITIL, COBIT, IEEE, etc.)
  • Certification in HP/Mercury or Rational is a plus
