Subsea Installations Engineer
An immediate contract opportunity available within an Engineering company for an experienced Subsea Installations Engineer based in Aberdeen.
The company provides subsea engineering and training services to the oil, gas and renewable industries. They offer a complete range of pipeline, riser and subsea engineering expertise including pipeline design, analysis, integrity management and decommissioning
ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
* Preparing calculations, reports, datasheets and specifications to clients' requirements
* Promoting company engineering capability to existing and new clients
* Contributing to install ability in design
* Preparing client's installation scopes of work
* Evaluating client's tender bids and reviewing contractor's submissions
* Partaking in engineering secondments to client offices (UK and overseas)
* Consulting, problem solving, risk assessments, presentations
* Inputting to and review of course presentations
* Managing small teams and client interface
* Managing medium sized projects with client interface
* Writing and checking reports and procedures
* Tender package preparation
The candidate will ideally also offer one or more elements of specialisation:
* Project management
* Expertise in Orcaflex, Flexcom, Abaqus, Ansys orequivalent
* Sales and customer relationship management
* Background in Subsea Construction Engineering
* Demonstrable HSEQ knowledge and skills
DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
* 6 + years' experience in subsea engineering
* Degree/Post Graduate qualification in a relevant technical or science discipline
* Experience in offshore construction, with relevant experience within the offshore oil and gas
* production industry
* Knowledge of relevant codes, standards, legislation and its offshore influences
* Ability to use initiative and direct and guide other team members
* Strong interpersonal/client facing skills
* Report writing experience with strong attention to detail
* Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and ability to use bespoke databases
* Chartered engineer, member or fellow of an engineering institution (or working towards)
