Our client is developing a JAVA based platform for the newest model of one of the most popular model cars. The unit sits on the head unit of the car and allows your phone to communicate with the head unit. The client has won awards for this product and now they're about to launch into the electric car arena!

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Represent QA in product development projects as a cross-functional team member
- Participate in requirements/specification/design reviews, being the voice of the customer and the QA team
- Participate with peers in test/project planning and scheduling of QA related activities
- Perform test design for assigned features and products
- Participate in developing testing strategies
- Perform test execution and evaluate test results for product development projects and other testing activities owned by the QA team
- Participate in defect management: submission, triaging, investigation, verification
- Assist in mentoring and growing junior team members
- Promote quality and best practices internally to QA and cross-functionally
- Participate in quality related, QA internal and cross-functional process improvement initiatives
- Flexibly own and execute other tasks as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's Degree - Engineering/CS/etc.
- 4-5+ years of experience in a Software Quality Assurance capacity in product development environments, or 6+ years of combined experience in product development environments with at least 3 years of direct QA experience
- Proficiency and understanding of QA methodologies and principles, and how delivering products efficiently and predictably with a high degree of quality can be achieved
- Understanding of and experience with various SDLC processes and how various QA activities and quality-centered best practices fit into such product development life cycles
- Experience developing testing strategies that go beyond just utilizing the UI, such as data-driven testing, utilizing and defining tools, stubs, test harnesses, etc.
- Experience with cross-functional environments and ability to work with PM, Dev, Support, etc., in order to effectively represent quality assurance as a discipline and to elevate QA as a team of cross-functional equality
- Exposure to test automation particularly in the mobile handset industry and/or Embedded systems a plus
- Basic programming and/or Scripting skills a plus
- Experience working with remote teams and partners with respect to QA activities a plus
