Voice Over IP Engineer area Brussels

Our client is actually extending there Voice Over IP services and therefore looking a Voice Over IP Engineer with strong design and implementation experience.

Within the Global Telecom team, Voice and Video Engineers are responsible for developing Enterprise wide audio, video and unified communications technologies and makes recommendations regarding the integration of these technologies into the existing standards. They provide support in the translation of business requirements into telecommunications (Voice and Video) requirements, designs and orders. They help troubleshooting and resolving complex network and voice related problems.

As technical senior engineers, they lead technical role of various projects, plan new configurations for integration into the audio and video system, and ensure effective integration and optimal performance for newly added interfaces.

Your job within the Global Telecom Team consists of the following main tasks:

- Voice Over IP procedures for operations, management & monitoring
- Responsible for developing engineering templates and providing recommendations during engineering reviews.
- Define feature and capability standards for IPTel peripherals and unified communications technologies services
- Document design specifications, installation instructions, and other systemrelated information.
- Enable the technical end to end smooth delivery of Cisco Voice Matrix
- Converged Solutions by taking a Design Concept into a working Solution and eliminating the Risk of Failure to the Customer.
- Constructively work together, sharing idea's, knowledge and resources to create excellence in order to move into the e- business.
- Take ownership of customer technical issues relating to elements of the provided solution.
- Monitor network performance and provide network statistics to identify capacity or performance problems VoIP technical architecture and Configuration
- Design and optimize Voice Over IP system topologies and site configurations.
- Deliver Voice in a complex data networks within a mixed business customer base.
- Coordinate requirements with users and suppliers and Organize and direct installations on site surveys.
- Implement and Perform related duties as required.
- Higher Voice Over IP specific technical capability, with Support and coaching of team members within the teams.
- Automatically take ownership of Customer and internal issues to provide a resolution to the satisfaction of all.
- Full Voice Project delivery.
- Attend customer or project meetings as required with remote locations to ensure an exceptional customer experience for the Solution being provided.
- Develop project Plan, installations, transitions, and cutovers of components and voice capabilities
- Provide the full customer on-site relationship
- Be comprehensively skilled in VoIP, to deal effectively with standard and nonstandard problems or to interpret customer requirements.
- Actively improve individual knowledge and capability by seeking assistance outside of own technical experience from wider team.
- Assist in the reduction of budget costs to support unit objectives.
- Deal with internal and external customer complaints using the appropriate procedures when required

Experience & Capabilities
- You have recently worked in a multicultural and international environment, ideally for more than five years.
- You have a strong enterprise VoIP experience including design, implementation and operational support Cisco Call Manager.
- You designed and implemented successfully, in a large banking or capital markets environment, a secure, reliable operable and flexible IP voice network.
- Occasional trips to Paris or London or other location are not a problem for you
- You have an effective verbal and writing communication skills are required to work with all levels of the organization including management and vendors.

Education and Competencies
- Bachelor's Degree in computer science or related experience is required
- Certifications such as CCIE, CCVA, CCVP, or equivalent preferred
- Hands-on experience and in-depth knowledge of IP routing and voice related protocol H.323, SIP, SIP trunking, PSTN access etc...
- Expertise in Cisco Call manager technologies version 7 and beyond
- CUCM experience including SRST and configuring Cisco Call manager devices at core and remote site level
- General VoIP network management, routing and switching, Security (ASA), Windows Server, Voice and TDM Switching.
- Experience with Alcatel PBX integration advantage, VC implementation and administration are a plus.
- Ability to self-manage time and tasks against given sites deliveries
- Flexible approach to working patterns to enable escalations/transformations to be resolved/completed
- Collection of existing configs, Creation of new configs, Amendment of existing

Languages: English + good knowledge of French, Dutch is an asset

Project:
- Start: ASAP
- End: 6 months with possible extensions
- Location: Brussels, with some travel in Europe (couple of days per month)
