Duties will include:
o Monitoring production and injection performance on existing fields to optimise production and maximise recovery
o Performing well test analysis
o Performing reservoir simulation modelling/studies and generating production forecasts
o Economic analysis
o Technical input/support to new field development planning
o Project management of outsourced reservoir engineering studies
o Planning and execution of technical programmes in conjunction with drilling/well operations and geoscience teams.
o Technical input to appraisal and field development programmes

Meeting external parties such as partners and DECC and presenting results or proposals for investments

The Reservoir Engineer will have a role in various activities/projects and/or supervise and co-ordinate the activities of other team members. S/He will be expected to support the development ot technical skills and knowledge within the team by openly sharing knowledge and expertise with more and less experienced professionals and through involvement in the technical mentoring process.

Job specification
* Keeps abreast of new and emerging technologies and applies leading technologies and technical best practice to maximise field performance.
* Develops highly positive relationships, and inter-faces effectively, with other teams and external parties eg well operations, projects, supply chain, JV partner representatives.
* Develops a good understanding of financial/commercial aspects of work activities. Ensures expenditures are effectively managed, controlled and monitored.
* Provides technical input and evaluation support relating to the award of contracts and supplier agreements for eg specialist services. As appropriate, supports the contractor/supplier management process by developing highly positive relationships with contractors and suppliers and ensuring delivery against agreed objectives/KPIs.
* May be required to make visits offshore for technical meetings and/or to enhance onshore-offshore relationships/communications.
* The job holder is expected to take ownership for the continuous development of personal and technical expertise and knowledge.
* The job holder is expected to be flexible and undertake additional duties commensurate with the overall responsibilities of the job, and that are within their competence, when required.

Person
* Substantial experience within Reservoir Engineering discipline
* Previous experience in a similar role within a challenging and diverse asset management environment
* Exposure to drilling/well operations (well planning etc.)
* Proven ability to undertake complex tasks requiring the application of well-developed technical skills and knowledge with limited supervision
* Proven relationship-builder with the ability to work effectively in multi-disciplinary teams
* Highly effective communication/presentation/report-writing skills
* Self starter/Highly motivated/Well organised
* Well developed analytical and problem-solving skills
