Functional Scope of DMS:

Document Archiving

Describe documents with any type of additional information

  • Scan documents
  • Support, attach, scan, and save multiple formats; (ie DOC, PDF, PPT, XLS, TIFF, JPG, JPEG etc), with ability
  • to compress the document size.
  • store electronic as well as paper documents
  • store documents in multiple folders even on removable devices Document Control
  • Check-in/checkout feature to block other users on the network from trying to edit a document that you are
  • currently working on
  • Document versioning feature to create and retain multiple versions of the same document
  • Classifications based on department, employee, decisions, and announcements
  • link with the Internet
  • perform automatic indexing handle digital books and folders
  • link archived documents with the associated input/output dates to facilitate retrieval
