An exceptional opportunity has arisen for an External Fund Valuations candidate to join the Operations teams for a well-established Bank. This role is based within Global Transaction Services and will be reporting into the Supervisor of External Funds.

The Valuations team calculates daily prices, which are published in the market, on External Linked funds for its clients. The role holder will work within this Valuations team and will report to and assist a Supervisor, External Fund Valuations.

The role is to work within a team to produce accurate daily prices for the External Funds Dept within tight deadlines, maintain investment and accounting records on the specified system for these funds and produce daily/monthly/yearly information in accordance with pre-determined timescales. The role will require organisation of daily work-flows.

This role would suit a candidate that has done a similar role within the Financial Markets and really keen to develop.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Produce daily information for price calculation and validation.
  • Validating and checking daily price movements of funds, investigating any discrepancies.
  • Daily calculation and checking of tax positions of the funds.
  • Ensure all financial transactions are correctly accounted for in the records of the funds.
  • Supply all relevant price information to national press, agencies and internal and external customers.
  • Perform all record keeping and reconciliation of records in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  • Provide client with information relating to investment activity for inclusion in Annual Report and other statutory returns.
  • Respond to ad-hoc queries from auditors, clients, fund managers and other customers.
  • Contribute to improving the effectiveness of the Valuations processes.
  • Create, maintain and enhance productive working relationships with all customers.
  • Plan and organise work to achieve maximum output.
  • Deliver, monitor and evaluate work.
  • Support team in achievement of outputs.
  • Maintain own standard of excellence and encourage this is others.
  • Contribute to the improvement of systems, products and services.
  • Other ad-hoc projects.

Knowledge/Experience:

  • Relevant accounting experience, preferably within an investment/daily-pricing environment.
  • Experience of preparing and analysing data.

Skills:

  • Understanding of regulations and factors that affect accurate pricing.
  • Basic understanding of accounting standards.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Access.
  • Financial understanding and analytical skills.
  • Experience of Bloomberg an advantage.

Qualifications:

  • Maths or accountancy at Higher/A-Level or equivalent.
  • IAQ or other professional qualification an advantage.
