Project Manager

Job Description:

The contract resource acting as Project Manager on the Pharmacy BIO OPPR (Out-patient Pharmacy Replacement) project will plan, execute, and manage deliverables within the development team for a new enterprise wide pharmacy system according to strict deadlines and milestones.

This includes acquiring the necessary resources and coordinating the efforts of team members and third-party contractors or consultants in order to deliver projects according to plan.

Some of those specific responsibilities include:

Define project track scope, goals and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and environment stakeholders, and program management.

Develop full-scale project plans and associated communications documents.

Update and forecast budgets

Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion.

Liaise with project stakeholders including program management on an ongoing basis.

Estimate the resources and participants needed to achieve project goals.

Where required, negotiate with managers for the acquisition of required personnel from within the project.

Determine and assess need for additional staff and/or consultants and make the appropriate recruitments if necessary during project cycle.

Set and continually manage OPPR project expectations with team members and other IT and business stakeholders.

Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel.

Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the project team.

Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path.

Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools.

Track project milestones and deliverables

Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations.

Determine the frequency and content of status reports from the project team, analyze results, and troubleshoot problem areas.

Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans.

Build, develop, and grow any business relationships vital to the success of the project.

Position Requirements

BA/BS degree or college diploma or 10 years direct work experience in a project management capacity, including all aspects of process development and execution.

PMP Certifications preferred

Good background of IT support and operational practices preferably in Healthcare Industry.

Strong desktop application skills including MS Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio required

Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is essential.

Can conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

Reacts to project adjustments and alterations promptly and efficiently.

Persuasive, encouraging, and motivating.

Ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources, including upper management, clients, and other departments.

Ability to defuse tension among project team, should it arise

Ability to bring project to successful completion through political sensitivity.

Strong written and oral communication skills.

Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment is crucial.

1. Responsible for the regular scheduling, coordination, and facilitation of project update meetings with key OPPR stakeholders.

2. Status and present to OPPR leadership, Pharmacy BIO program management, and executive leadership.

3. Prepare project updates, presentations, and status reports for key OPPR stakeholders and executive leadership, by engaging project team members.

4. Proactively manage risks and ensure change control process is followed.

1. Demonstrated Project Management experience, preferably in Health Care IT

2. Strong Verbal and Written Communication Skills with high-level of proficiency

3. Can conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

4. Competent and proficient understanding of Citrix, Oracle, IBM SOA based technologies including WebSphere Application Server, Weblogic, Web Services on AIX platforms, DataPower, and WMB.

Desired skills

1. PMP Certified

2. Specific background in large Pharmacy Systems and implementations.

3. Agile software development with Scrum

4. Exposure to Rally, Cognos, RPM

5. Previous experience as a consultant

6. Knowledge of NCPDP D.0
