Computer Operator-Charlotte, NC- 6month
The Computer Operator will support the regular and reliable operations of the Information Technology infrastructure. Primary function is to monitor and control the infrastructure, and associated equipment, according to established standards, procedures and required documentation.
Highlighted Key Skills:
CA7, Zeke, or CA Workload Automation (dSeries) batch scheduling systems, UNIX Max; DHCP, TCP/IP. Rebooting Servers.
Responsibilities:
- Operator will monitor the server and Mainframe infrastructure and respond to alerts (requires a breadth of knowledge related to IT operations infrastructure).
- First Level Resolution Response.
- Escalate complex problems.
- Monitor the resolution status.
- Provide status in documentation and reports.
- Determine (or assists in determining) and implement necessary changes to the IT infrastructure.
- Execute daily responsibilities in support of external groups (rebooting Servers, creating print queues, setting up DHCP scopes, TCP/IP address reservations, etc.)
- Participate on project teams that pertain to the Enterprise Data Center.
Qualifications:
- 3-5 years experience work in a computer data center environment.
- Strong knowledge of Windows and Mainframe operating systems.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Ability to analyze, resolve, and document problems and resolutions.
- Ability to learn quickly and follow written procedures.
- Understand network concepts which include TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP.
- Proficient in the Microsoft Office Tool set. Desired: Four year degree in IT related field.
- Working knowledge of CA7, Zeke, or CA Workload Automation (dSeries) batch scheduling systems, UNIX Max.
- Local candidates preferred; Must be able to work W-2; No Corp to Corp allowed.
