Our client a large Telcoms software company based in Dublin is looking for a nuber of senior Java enterprise developers for 6 months contracts
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Works on multiple problems of diverse scope where refinement of design/requirements will be necessary & is expected to drive resolution of requirements. Produces functional and design specifications and test plans in the course of implementing solutions.
- Is able to take responsibility for the complete life cycle of a module from requirements to delivery
- Is able to plan, schedule and monitor own work with little review.
- Is proactive in a development team, contributes significantly to the success of the team and able to gain the co-operation of others.
- Continues to demonstrate an organised, systematic, disciplined and analytical approach to designing, problem solving, coding and defect fixing.
- Has excellent oral and written communication skills for effective dialogue with colleagues on a project team and superiors.
- Continues to develops an appreciation of the wider field of technology outside his/her own specialisation and has developed a good broad understanding of computer system architecture, (studying, magazines, web)

- Software development and deployment in a UNIX environment
- Human-Computer Interface (HCI) design in general, web design in particular
- HTML 4.0, XHTML 1.1, CSS, JavaScript 1.2
- Java 5 or 6 SE, J2EE 1.4 or 5
- OOD
- Large scale web application development.
- Web Services development and integration.
SKILLS DESIRABLE
- J2EE Application Servers (JBoss AS, IBM WAS, Oracle/BEA WebLogic/10g AS)
- EJB 3.0
- Apache Struts framework; Spring framework, Apache Tomcat web container
- JSF
- Java ServerPages (JSP) and tag libraries
- Experience with AJAX libraries
- System integration through Web Services and/or remote EJBs
- Load testing
- Usability studies
- Source code control: SVN or CVS.
- Highly scalable deployments providing high availability

- Web development in a Telecoms environment.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelors degree or equivalent experience, and a minimum 6-years relevant industry experience
