Project Manager

Responsibilities:
Provide leadership and overall coordination for delivery of highly complex IT projects using project management, budgeting and financial tracking controls.
Provide project oversight and reporting to project sponsor and management.
Design, develop, and implement databases best practices and standards across multiple platforms, technologies and computing environments.
Work as a Resource Manager to help recruit resources for all of Database Services.
Manage the end to end procurement process for obtaining funding, hardware selection, entering purchase in OneLink, accounting recharge and coordinating the receiving and install of hardware for Database Services infrastructure such as Shared Database Utility.
Manage vendor relationship with IBM and be the point of contact for escalation issues from CLIENT DBA. Work with CLIENT DBA, management, and IBM on issues and escalation end to end. Develop improvement plan and monitor IBM performance to CLIENTI.
Work closely with technical and client management to ensure implementation of database management and support tools for complex business application development requirements and processes in accordance with latest enterprise direction (eg, diverse development platforms, technological environments, software, hardware and tools). Research and evaluate alternative solutions and recommend the most cost effective design solutions.
Perform research, prepare technical studies and make recommendations. Prepare business requirements reports, feasibility studies, and cost justification statements. Articulate information architecture to clients.
Utilizes and effectively communicates technical components of an initiative to applicable parties.
Work with DBA to estimate labor and Scope of project.
Build and maintaining project work plans to help team members remain focused on the most important tasks.
Produce and distribute project meeting notes and project status reports to keep sponsors, clients, IT management and team members up to date on progress and issues.
Analyze project risks and formulate risk-mitigation plans to improve predictability of project team to meet commitments.
Overseeing quality of project work to assure high quality solution deployment.
Manage vendor relationship to maintain rapport with vendors so that they will be most willing to support modifying their product to meet CLIENT's enterprise requirements.
Review and negotiate with consulting, software and hardware vendors on contracts, SOW, and project deliverables.
Establish phased deliverables and phased released schedule for large projects to reduce complexity and increase predictable delivery schedules.
Manage expectations with clients on deliverables and dates related to client requests.
Understand project dependencies; be able to recognize critical path issues that may impact the success and quality of project. Escalate critical path issues to management.
Work with DBA, Business Analyst, Management and Application teams to develop and manage the database compliance processes, standard procedures, and enforcement of processes to enable compliance with SOX and HIPAA control requirements.
Perform change management activities using enterprise tools.
Represent Database Services in solution design meetings for database, vendor tools, and compliance projects.
Evaluate, recommend and maintain database compliance tools to monitor, track and measure compliance and remediate any issues.
Manage project and develop database remediation strategy and solution for compliance and change management issues.
Manage remediation projects for change management and compliance findings.
Consistently support compliance and the Principles of Responsibility (client's Code of Conduct) by maintaining the privacy and confidentiality of information, protecting the assets of the organization, acting with ethics and integrity, reporting noncompliance, and adhering to applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations, accreditation and licenser requirements (if applicable), and client's policies and procedures.

Technical Knowledge
Knowledge of Oracle 11g, SQL Server, and Oracle Database Security
Knowledge of UNIX - AIX, Solaris, Linux
Knowledge of SQL Server security framework and Active Directory
Knowledge with SAN storage systems
Working knowledge of SQL..
Clear understanding of RDBMS fundamentals.
Ability to write clear documentation of operating procedures and specifications for applications to be developed in relation to compliance
Exceptional communication, problem solving, and teamwork skills.
Extremely detail-oriented and able to follow clear methodologies for troubleshooting and development.
Ability to support and work within standard software development life cycle practices.

Requirements:
Minimum of 5+ years experience managing implementations of large-scale, complex, enterprise projects, with cross organizational teams over 15 people with up to 2 related projects.
Minimum of 2+ years of Database and compliance experience working on compliance driven projects that contain information security requirements.
Ability to lead a cross-functional team while motivating team members to their highest potential. Requires excellent oral and written communication skills as well as business presentation skills. Excellent analytical skills. Interfaces effectively with all levels and across organizational lines, including the business units. Effectively utilizes external vendors and internal resources. Demonstrated success at building team relationships and partnerships across organizational lines.
.*PMP certification is required.
Required to know and become proficient with the CLIENT-IT RPM project reporting tool.
Must be able to conform to governance processes and operate within the approved governance oversight processes.
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or MIS or equivalent experience.
Excellent verbal/written communication skills and previous experience managing large complex projects with multiple tracks.
