Context and Purpose

My client is a leading designer, developer and manufacturer of specialised components and subsystems. These products enable some of the world's leading OEMs to deliver innovative systems for medical and science, aerospace and defence, and industrial and commercial applications.
The Imaging projects group undertakes projects to supply imaging technology into high performance low volume applications. The Project Coordinator is responsible for the planning and schedule delivery of specified work packages within a programme.
The role will require SC clearance, so candidates who have not lived and worked in the UK for 5 or more years continuously will not be considered.
Planners, Analyst and Co-ordinators with MS Project 2007 & 2010 are welcome to apply.
Ideal industry background for candidates; Imaging, Physics, Manufacturing, Technical (ICT, Hardware & Software).

Main Accountabilities
- Initiating, executing, monitoring and controlling the work package life cycle to ensure delivery to the plan in terms of scope, timescales & budget. Forecasting the impacts on schedule (programme, intra workstream and across workstreams) of proposed changes
- Working with the applications team to prepare project plans and required documentation for bids, tender vets, and other initiated or planned phases within projects
- Effectively communicate work package performance, issues and risks to Project Manager and PMO. Escalating as appropriate. Working closely with the Technical Lead and other Project Coordinators on the delivery of the work package.
- Attend project team meetings as requested by the project manager. Support meeting logistics as requested.
- Archive actual schedule achievements for estimating future similar projects. Appropriate input into lessons learnt activity.
- Ensuring governance of work package is adhered to and appropriate activity and documentation is completed prior to Work Package sign off and handover.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvements of a Work Package in terms of process and procedures. Support the PMO with the analysis and reporting of productivity and trends. Recommend policy or procedural revisions that will improve schedule accomplishment
