Description
Major Health Care Provider has an outstanding opportunity for an IT Project Manager.
This position manages, organizes, analyzes, and controls all phases and activities of a project team. The IT PM is also responsible for systems development and implementation within a Health Care environment. This position also consults with clients regarding current and future business requirements, coordinates activities with data processing units, and processes to achieve required results.
Essential Functions:
As IT Project Manager you assist with managing key technologies with in our environment.
Manages a Matrix project team which is responsible for all phases of the system development & implementation process including analysis, design, development, testing, ongoing support for the client area application systems in an environment of diverse development platforms, & computing environment (eg, host based, distributed systems, Client Server), software, hardware, technology, tools, etc.
Consults w/clients in the analysis of short & long range business and technical requirements
Recommends innovations which anticipate the future impact of changing business requirements and technology
Organizes, analyzes, & controls the activities of the project team
Request necessary personnel for the various projects & directs their activities
Reviews & evaluates the work of the staff & prepares periodic performance reports
Prepares activity & progress reports for the team as directed by management.
Responsible for detailed project budget.
Tracks & reports development status (schedule, budget, milestones, metrics, key events, risks & issues) to appropriate manager.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience, in Computer Science, or related field
Substantial experience, typically 8+ years in systems analysis and application program development
Previous experience, typically 3+ years in direct supervisory and management position
Extensive knowledge of the system development, life cycle, system and application program, & development technology alternatives
Can lead a large-scale project or multiple smaller projects
Excellent analytical ability and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with clients and other IT staff
Knowledge of Health Care environment a plus or insurance background a plus.
Strong project management skills
Demonstrated effectiveness interfacing and negotiating with clients, internal customers, and vendors
Tools/Skills/Certificates:
Microsoft Word, Excel, Project and Powerpoint.
RPM
Lotus Notes
PMP a plus. (But not required)
CSM a plus. (But not required)
