DESCRIPTIONThe Senior Wired Network Test and QA Engineer will perform testing of Wireless LAN (WLAN) switching/access point products employing advanced security.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop and execute network test solutions for wireless infrastructure products, including scripts for automated regression testing.
- Identify, reproduce, characterize and log bugs.
- Verify fixes for bugs and plan/execute additional tests needed for fix verification.
- Execute performance, interoperability, and system level tests.
- Analyze failures and defects, and recommend corrective actions.
- Proactively work with engineers debugging software and hardware solutions during new product development.
- Set up customer configurations and test at System and Solution level.
- Develop bootloader for handset.
- Software programming and testing and using C/C++ in Embedded domain, and/or developing integration scripts (in Perl or UNIX Shell Scripts.
- Must have Automation experience, Wired Protocol Testing and Switching experience.
- Must have at least five years of Wireless, 802.11 a/b/g/n, hands-on test experience.
- Must have experience of Functional & Feature testing as well as System level testing.
- Ability to automate is required.
- B.S. EE/CS required with two to three years of relevant experience.
- Must have strong experience in WLAN testing in advanced/security protocols -WEP, 802.1x, WPA/TKIP, WPA2/AES/802.11i, WME/WMM/802.11e, QoS.
- Ability to automate is required. Solid automation experience (Perl/Tcl) a plus.
- Must have experience of Functional/Feature Testing as well as System Testing.
- Strong knowledge of WLAN, L2/L3 (Ethernet, TCP/IP), SNMP, HTTP, Linux/UNIX/Windows operating systems.
- Must be self-motivated and passionate about software testing and be thorough and detail oriented.
- Demonstrate experience of using network monitoring and analysis tools to debug Ethernet/Wireless/IP layer problems.
- Must be able to learn new technologies quickly.
- Good oral and written communication skills are required.
- Familiar with software development in C/C++.
- Must have good interpersonal communications and be able to understand a technological problem set and describe the situation under test to fellow software team members.
- Strong interest in Embedded domain.
- Knowledge in Embedded operating systems (WinCe, Palm OS, Linux Vrtx, Vxworks, etc.
- Experience in Multimedia Systems (image and video compression), DSP or Wireless baseband an advantage.
- Experience in Linux programming preferred.
