DESCRIPTION

The Electronic Technician will support of both pre and post sale services activities. Tasks will include: maintenance, troubleshooting, retrofits, upgrades/changes, and repair of products.

Responsibilities:
  • Performs changes and retrofits on customer's equipment in conjunction with routine maintenance.
  • Diagnoses most equipment problems using appropriate tools, test equipment, and documentation.
  • Performs miscellaneous duties as assigned.
  • Accurate/timely return of repair paperwork and parts kits.
  • Performs work duties in accordance with accepted safety procedures, and corporate policies.
  • Adheres to established ESD guidelines, repair procedures, and associated safety standards.
  • Apply electrical and electronic theory and related knowledge, usually under the direction of engineering staff, to design, build, repair, calibrate, and modify electrical components, circuitry, controls, and machinery for subsequent evaluation and use by engineering staff in making engineering design decisions.
Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of soldering iron, Volt/Ohm Meter and common hands tools required.
  • Good working knowledge of PC and applicable software such as MS Word, Excel, and Outlook preferred but not required.
  • Completion of a two year Electronics Technology degree or equivalent experience is desirable but not required.
  • Must have around three years of experience with electronics technician/radio MFG or SIC.
  • Final training as electronics technician or communications technician or similar.
  • Experience with control panel construction, construction of mobile radio or similar.
  • May require an Associate's degree or technical school certification.
  • Ability to work accurately, to be adept in technology.
  • Experience with elements of mobile radio technology.
  • Should be team oriented and a fast learner.
