DESCRIPTIONThe Software Test Engineer will work with in a cable set-top test group to run a set of stress tests on a bank of set-tops.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Setup multiple test racks for various defined-stability tests.
- Load test code on a bank of set-tops.
- Run stress test scripts.
- Collect data logs daily.
- Organized and detail-oriented individual.
- Visual Basic and Perl programming experience. VB.NET programming skills a plus.
- Good verbal and written communication skills with ability to clearly report issues in review meetings.
- Knowledge of digital video formats, both HD and SD
- Knowledge of analog and digital audio formats and standards, Dolby and AC-3
- Knowledge in IP Networking principles such as DNS, DHCP, SNMP, Routing, TCP/IP and Ethernet
- Understanding of cable transmission standards and testing.
- Knowledge of UNIX and Windows based operating systems.
- Ability to work under minimum supervision.
