DESCRIPTION

The IT Business Solution Analyst will play a primary role throughout all phases of the Application Development & Support (ADS) process for small and large development projects and facilitates the requirements and testing phases of the ADS life cycle.

Responsibilities:
  • Liaison between the business community and the technical community and understands the business client's goals and objectives.
  • Works closely with the business clients to understand the business issues and helps them resolve those issues with IT and/or business solutions.
  • Collecting, clarifying, and translating the business requirements into documentation and conceptual design, and working with the IT technical staff and/or Business Clients to implement the solution.
  • Responsible for defining the business needs for new and/or enhanced products, services, or optimized business processes.
  • Works closely with Business Clients, Business Services Managers, Product Managers, IT Architects and IT Developers in developing the appropriate IT and/or Business solution to meet the client's needs.
  • Facilitates meetings and communications between IT and the business.
  • Responsible to inform team members on ongoing discussions with the business.
  • Participates (or leads) workflow analysis in support of requirements identification.
  • Captures, analyzes and documents business and user requirements.
  • Provides consulting and advice on functionality, applicability and usability of technology solutions to project requirements.
  • Assists in the preparation of the testing strategy and the execution of the test plan.
  • Participate in the development of user documentation and manuals, training materials and/or job aids when necessary.
  • Facilitates the Application Development & Support life cycle for small and large development requests.
  • Understands primary business area IT systems, processes and application data.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree along with three to five years of experience required.
  • Experience in the Utility space, specifically in the Outage Management area required.
