DESCRIPTION
The Senior Lab Technician will be responsible for the instrumental and hands-on analysis of various types of doughs, evaluating ingredient impact on dough systems, and the baking of crackers.
Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
-Moisture analysis of flour
-Learning and following procedures for using a Farinograph and Rondo dough sheeter
-Learning and following procedures for processing doughs and baking cracker products
-Weighing and preparing appropriate solutions
-Observations regarding dough formation and consistency
-Monitoring instrument settings (proof box, water bath, oven, etc.)
-Submitting samples for analytical analysis, if needed
-Compilation and preliminary analysis of results
-Communicating experimental results to project team members
Candidate Qualifications:
It is desired that a candidate possess:
-Superb attention to detail
-Ability to learn new skills and procedures quickly
-Experience with dough systems and bakery processes
-Previous research experience and scientific background
-Ability to run multiple work streams concurrently
-Excellent time management
-Excellent organizational skills
-Ability to function independently
