Responsible for deployment of the new data to the buildings in scope for the Communications Upgrade project. Responsible for the support of the areas already deployed to the new network prior to them being handed over to BAU for support. Documenting the work in As Built documents.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
- Perform and supervise installation, configuration, monitoring and maintenance of all aspects of the data network
- Provide assistance and guidance to network engineers to implement the networks and systems required by data networking.
- Provide expert technical advice on operational changes, support, and improvements of the data network
- Take operational responsibility for the provision of data services, and ensure conformity to appropriate standards
- Manage and maintain the wireless network infrastructure and services that is within the Communications Upgrade projects scope
- Manage and maintain the Firewall network infrastructure and services that are within the communications upgrade projects scope
- Work through incidents and service requests through the Helpdesk ticketing system to resolve any issues arising from the project deployment prior to handover
- Out of hours work, such as rostered on call work and response to priority 1 incidents
- Excellent knowledge of TCP/IP and related protocols
- Must have experience with MPLS
- Excellent advanced knowledge of CISCO environments and technologies
- Intimate knowledge of advanced routing and switching on CISCO devices
- Demonstrated knowledge of Network security appliances
- Good knowledge of CISCO wireless appliances, protocols and technologies
- Knowledge and experience in Change Management Process
- Experience in network upgrades in large ICT environments
- CISCO Foundation Network Professional
- ITIL Foundation certification
- Extensive experience using SNMP/Netflow based monitoring systems (Solarwinds Orion, Op Manager, or similar)
- Experience using DNS DHCP systems like Infoblock
