Description
An exclusive opportunity has arisen for a SC cleared Senior Linux Engineer to work for Steria in Hampshire or Wiltshire ( Base location either one of them but need to travel occasionally based on client requirement - Expenses can be claimed ) for an initial 6 month assignment.
This assignment will be for up to 6 months initially with potential long-term prospects, working with one of Steria's Government Clients.
Linux Engineer will work through Steria Recruitment for Steria, the UK's leading Outsourcing and Technology Company.
Senior Linux Engineer is require to to undertake full design and implementation of Linux solutions within a complex technical environment. To carry out, first line fault and problem resolution, as required. To provide advice and guidance on Linux administration and management.
Essential Skills (in preference order):
- Previous experience in Linux system design
- Linux system administration - RHCE qualified
- Windows Server R2 Active Directory/system administration
- Shell/Perl Scripting
- TCP/IP Networking
- Knowledge of Oracle Solaris system administration
- Experience of producing design/build documentation
- Samba file server and Winbind authentication
- Kickstart build Scripting
Desirable Skills:
- Knowledge of Cisco networking technologies
- Sun Ray Server software installation/administration
- Use of VMware ESX/vCenter
- Oracle Secure Global Desktop
- Oracle Directory Server Enterprise Edition
- Oracle Waveset Identity Manager
- SAN/iSCSI storage
On client's instructions, due to the urgency, nature and length of the assignment, the successful candidate must have current security clearance to SC level or above. This role complies with national security vetting requirements.
