IP Network Design Engineer
Job Description:
National Network Operations Data Services network design engineer responsible for transport design development and integration to the MPLS transport infrastructure and national IPv4 & IPv6 VRF based network architecture.
Areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to:
Customer requirements gathering and high level design review
Low level transport design development and documentation
Ensure design delivery within defined project scope, budget and approved timelines
Ensure design consistency with documented standards configuration best practices
Provide Engineering and Operational oversight and knowledge sharing
Qualifications -
Education/Training:
BACHELORS DEGREE REQUIRED, preference in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering
MASTER DEGREE PREFERRED.
CCIE and/or JNCIE certification preferred. Certification requirement commensurate with demonstrated experience during technical interview.
Technical Skills:
Candidate must be accountable with demonstrated exposure to carrier grade provider networks.
Minimum 10 years of experience in data networking and telecommunications, including working knowledge of TCP/IP (IPv4 & IPV6).
Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience configuring Routers, Switches related network equipment.
Solid understanding of Networking specific technologies: IPV6, L2VPN, L3VPN, OSPFv3, MPBGP, QOS/Traffic Engineering, MPLS (LDP & TDP), and VRFs. Operating Systems: Junos, IOS, IOS-XR, XOS.
Experience with network design, configuration and troubleshooting.
Ability to articulate structured network design, the OSI Interconnect model and how it relates to the design and deployment of structured networks
Excellent PC skills on Windows, MS Office, Project, and Visio
