Senior Programmer Analyst

Description

Link Technologies is looking for a Programmer Analyst for a two month contract in Carson City NV. Carson City, Nevada - 30% onsite (requirements validation, application design, installation, testing and training) and 70% offsite (development, programming, implementation). This a part time position with an average of 20 hours per week.

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED

Have a Bachelor's degree in computer science, or any other equivalent degree with a minimum of seven (7) years of programming experience.

Have a minimum of seven (7) years experience in developing programs using Microsoft Visual Studio .NET 2010 and Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 and above.

Be proficient in writing web applications using ASP.NET and VB.NET. Proficiency in C# programming language will be considered as well instead of VB.NET

Have experience in writing Web Services using .NET Framework (this is a must).

Be an expert in writing efficient SQL queries and using stored procedures in SQLServer.

Be an expert in deriving and understanding business rules by reviewing existing programs.

Have good verbal and written communication, documentation and user requirement gathering skills.

Be proficient in analysing, debugging and testing programs.

PROJECT OVERVIEW

Consultant will be working on the Motor Pool Billing Application for interfacing/transferring data between systems and reporting. The project must be completed by July 1, 2012. Project will include the following activities:

Application Description

This application converts data output from the FleetAnywhere application into a file that can be uploaded to the client's Advantage Financial System. It also generates monthly statements and reports for the services rendered by the Division.

Application Scope

This application imports several comma-delimited text files generated by the FleetAnywhere application, does some code conversions and stores the imported files. It allows the Division staff to enter manual adjustments, generate monthly statements and reports, and ultimately generate an export file in the format required by the Advantage Financial System.

Context

Motor Pool currently has a billing system written in FoxPro that has become outdated and difficult to maintain. The Division wants to replace this Legacy application with an application which should be implemented on a current platform supported by the client.

Technical Environment

The new application will be hosted at the Agency's file server, and should be accessible to the Motor Pool Division staff behind the client's Firewall. Application users should be authenticated by means of user IDs and passwords that comply with client standards. Since all users of this application will have access to all the application functions, user roles that limit access to the application functions are not required.
