Description
Our client is a hugely popular interactive games console brand seeking an experienced SQL programmer to develop a user interface for existing databases to allow for weekly, monthly, quarterly and ad hoc self-serve reporting. Reporting will be based on an established set of metrics and help support the build out of business-critical reporting/scorecard that will complement Customer Analytics and Database Marketing functions. This contract role will drive structure around stakeholder requests, interrogate customer data from multiple source systems, manage/finesse/quality check analysis results/reports/scorecards and address ad hoc data and report needs. This is a highly visible and client-facing role, calling for inventive and innovative problem solving, as you will work to embed a BI reporting discipline while working directly with stakeholders on multiple projects.
Responsibilities will include:
- Construction of a user interface that will allow self-serve reporting on existing corporate databases.
- Refining, improving and centralizing existing analysis, reports and scorecards, making them accessible, and communicating data and reporting capabilities to the broader business community
- Using available software tools to mine and analyze data to support Entertainment Business initiatives
- Collaboration with Management Team to effect production of data sourcing needs
- Leveraging past experience in establishing and streamlining best Business Intelligence practices, principles, processes and procedures
- Helping define and create a deep dive analysis function, partnering with the Database and Infrastructure Team and IS/Datawarehouse support staff
- Defining business requirements for marketing/reporting data mart(s)
REQUIREMENTS:
- Advanced expertise in relational databases, T-SQL, MDX and C#
- Advanced experience with Business Intelligence toolset: SSIS, SSAS, SSRS
- Hands-on experience analysing large volumes of data
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
- Proficiency in advanced Excel functions (eg, creating formulas, pivot tables, PowerPivot)
- Web site analysis tools such as Adobe Omniture SiteCatalyst or WebTrends
- Familiarity with OLAP concepts
- Experience in Datawarehouse environment
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Excellent collaborative skills
- Strong client services orientation
- Consultative and customer-facing skills
- OLAP tools such as Business Objects and/or MicroStrategy a plus
- SAS, SPSS, Tableau, Adobe Insight or similar analytic software a plus
This contract will be approximately 3 months in duration.
