Principal PWay Engineer : Rail

A Principal PWAy engineer is required to join our client's Design Team to lead and direct the technical activities of the PWay team and ensure delivery to the PWay Business Plan and manage packages of work.
Responsibilities:
* Assist with forecast manpower requirements for the PWay service stream requirements in line with the agreed Business Plan and the Forward Pipeline
* Maintain an interface between the PWay section and the other Engineering disciplines to ensure best knowledge of business opportunities, common approaches and joint targets
* Ensure that the necessary actions are planned and implemented to ensure that the volume and type of work which has been agreed under the Business Plan is delegated to staff, or actioned personally, is delivered
* Responsible for the design/checking of all reports/designs submissions prior to issuing to Clients
* Assist with the delivery and monitoring of live projects as required by the relevant Project Manager/Track Engineering design manager
* Prepare work packages for delivery through other resource bases if required
* Preparation of estimates/quotations and proposals as required by the Track Engineering design manager
* Perform the duties of Contractors Responsible Engineer for projects as requires by the CDM regulations
* Review design processes and technical report submissions. Where errors occur, or work is defective, carry out casual analysis and take the necessary steps to prevent reoccurrence
* Assist in Permanent staff training, running training courses and provide development which is geared to deliver the agreed Business Plan and the Pipeline
* Address and implement quality procedures to ensure that the Division can achieve and maintain ISO9002 registration and to facilitate the successful completion of projects
* Allocate roles, responsibilities and production activities with the Pway team
* Support the Track Engineering design manager in the preparation and monitoring of a robust Business Plan for the PWay service stream.
Experience & Qualifications:
Appropriate technical qualifications
Significant design experience
Understanding of the requirements of CDM
AutoCAD and Microstation (ideally 3D)
MXRail
BRT Bentley Rail Track (Design and CAD Functions)
