Overview:

Our client, a major UK retail bank, require the services of a Environmental Analyst. This role is part of the simplification programme that is seeking to drive efficiencies and improved customer experience across the bank.

Core duties of the role:

  • Actively maintain user stakeholder Matrix for environment usage. This is used to coordinate planned environment downtime and issue escalation.
  • Actively maintain technical stakeholder Matrix. Contains all IT contacts for the 30+ teams needed to maintain the environments across both heritages. This is then used to aide in rapid defect resolution.
  • Provide crucial input into the annual environment budget - approximately £760,000 p.a.
  • Facilitate internal environment audits with user and technical stakeholders to determine optimal approach for the year ahead. Work with the IT PM's to ensure that the correct teams are engaged and the appropriate level of environment provision is provided for.
  • Provide key technical support on all new Cards projects. Assessing often complex environment needs of projects and then working with IT to provide the most efficient, practical solution to meet their requirements.
  • Provide impact assessment and approval of all proposed changes to the above test environments. Highlighting risks to the stakeholders and providing practical solutions to complex environment issues.
  • Monitor all environments daily to minimise environment downtime and risk to projects. Reporting any issues to the user stakeholders in a timely manner.
  • Proactively work with technical stakeholders to implement improvements and ensure environment stability.
  • Manage and communicate environment/batch Calendars to relevant business areas
  • Manage environment data refreshes across both platforms, working with the numerous internal and external stakeholders to ensure that this is done in an efficient way to minimise impact to users.
  • Ensure effective co-ordination & communication of environment availability across all of the system and business areas who require access the test environments.
  • Ensure that all environment documentation remains up-to-date with all changes going through strict change control.
  • Ensure effective issue escalation to Test Leads and Release Management where there is a significant threat to delivery.
  • Support FD/IT to achieve target availability rates and track/report metrics.
  • Take ownership of environment issues. Set up and chair meetings to progress often complex environment issues that need numerous technical teams to resolve. Ensuring the stakeholders are kept abreast of developments at all times.
  • Provide single point of contact for environment users.
  • Assist in the provision of new or upgraded environment components/infrastructure.
  • Contribute towards the Continuous Improvement items.
