For our client in Den Haag (the netherlands) we are currently searching for Web engineer.
Start end of May till at least end of September.
work location: full time Den haag.
Main tasks
The mission encompasses the following end-to-end tasks:
Completing the existing technical documentation of the Firefox extension by analysing the code (JavaScript) and collecting information from the original developers.
Designing, implementing and documenting a technical solution for offering the same functionalities and user experience with a browser-independent solution.
In case where some features could not be implemented using a purely browserindependent approach, designing, implementing and documenting a technical solution (eg Browser Helper Object) for porting either the remaining features or the whole Firefox extension to Internet Explorer.
Designing, developing and documenting a (preferably browser-independent) solution for capturing and sending to the workflow the content of a web-page displayed in a browser.
Technical skills
At least 5 years of IT experience
Software analysis
Object Oriented modelling and design (UML and Design Patterns)
Deep knowledge of several browsers (in particular IE and Firefox)
Experience in developing or customizing complex Firefox and/or Internet Explorer extensions (Browser Helper Objects).
Hands-on knowledge of the main programming languages used for extensions development: JavaScript, C#, C++
Experience with at least the following Web technologies: HTML, JavaScript, AJAX, JSON.
Knowledge of network and systems in the scope of Server Side content analysis and manipulation.
Experience with Apache HTTP server, Bluecoat appliance, SQUID are considered a plus.
