Sand Resources has an excellent opportunity available for a contract Private Secretary for a government based client in London.

Our client is seeking an experienced Secretary with a proven track record of delivery within a professional advice and assistance role which will include the monitoring of meetings/conferences, responding to correspondence and liaising with key stakeholders.

Private Secretary Role:
Provide a comprehensive professional advice and assistance service to the Chair of organisation on a wide range of policy, health and social care and business critical issues, as well as day-to-day issues, enquiries and correspondence.
Co-ordinate the work of the Chair with that of the organisation as a whole.
Accompany the Chair, when required, to meetings and conferences.
Provide a support service and where appropriate, make notes/minutes of any issues/actions required and follow up where required.
Ensure that meeting papers associated with the Chair's work are fully conversant with agenda items prior to meetings and that they are in possession of any relevant briefing notes to underpin their knowledge on a particular issue.
Undertake research for papers/presentations and analysis as well as researching background information preparatory to meetings.
Prepare speeches and other presentations for the Chair as required utilising the appropriate visual and audio/visual techniques.
Receive/handle/respond to various items of incoming correspondence and emails addressed to the Chair.

Private Secretary Skills:
Will be required to act as an "ambassador" for the Chair building and maintaining good working relationships with both internal and external contacts.
Need to be an effective conduit of information between the Chair, Chief Executive and Deputy Chief Executive, managing relationships with confidence as well as sensitivity and tact.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Communicating with colleagues across the organisation, the Board and a variety of external stakeholders, at all levels.
Ability to manage budgets.
Ability to think strategically and take a longer term perspective.
