Description
Senior Purchasing Consultant/Procurement Manager is required for a contract position based in Glasgow for a leading global energy company. You will have in depth experience of delivering commercial contracts, managing in a commercial environment of service delivery, have good working knowledge of EU procurement directives, experience at managing strategic or large scale contracts and ideally be a member of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS).
Key Role Responsibilities:
To develop and implement specific procurement strategies for business requirements in order to deliver the lowest sustainable cost that represents maximum value for money.
- To assist with management of all aspects of the supplier relationship in order to mitigate risk.
- To negotiate and manage agreed areas of purchasing activities.
- To deal with procurement issues and ensure that internal customer needs are understood and met.
- Ensure compliance with the EU Procurement Directives in order to avoid business exposure to litigation.
- To support and maintain the businesses' health, safety and environmental policies.
- To cover for and or support other members of the procurement team.
- To undertake all other activities as requested.
Personally managing the relationship with suppliers to maximise value and exploit any opportunities with that supplier.
Develop and deliver improvements as per the supplier management framework to achieve benefits in line with business targets to meet challenging savings targets set by the business.
