Description
A Finance Business Analyst is required to work on a full front to back strategic Regulatory Reporting project in a large bank in the City. Candidate must have a good working knowledge around banking regulations and hold an accountancy qualification.
Role
The focus of the role will be analysis, business requirements production, functional specification and testing of changes relating to Simplification for BOE reporting.
The candidate will report to the Simplification project manager and work closely with the BOE reporting team and other Finance Change team members and the Financial Systems and Finance Technology teams. These teams are responsible for development and maintenance of the reporting application and IT architecture.
The candidate will be required to be a competent and confident self started who can develop sensible and practical solution proposals with minimum guidance from the line reporting team, who are themselves under considerable daily and monthly reporting pressure, or from the Finance Change team.
Skills and experience
-A strong Business Analyst with experience of the full project life cycle, preferably in the delivery of a Bank of England, or alternately other regulatory or Financial Reporting solutions.
-A qualified accountant with a minimum of 5 years' experience with treasury products (Money market, bonds, interest rate derivatives), both banking and trading book.
-A self starter who can work independently and develop practical solutions
-Strong analytical and communications skills
-A good knowledge of Bank of England reporting in a treasury environment is a preference. In the absence of significant BoE experience, strong financial accounting experience in a treasury environment is required.
-Experience in carrying out detailed business requirements gathering, specification and testing of data. The ability to sense check the numbers on a principles based level ie ability to step back from the detail and assess the overall reasonableness.
Preferred experience includes an ability to demonstrate a good understanding of:
-The underlying data required to drive BoE reporting
-Production of core project documentation, specifically Business Requirements and Process and Control Documentation
-Controls required to support reporting application eg data alignment and reconciliation
