Title: Network Engineer
Role: 6 months Contract
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP and routing/switching protocols.
- In depth understanding and knowledge of LAN and WAN architectures.
- Experience with creating documentation, diagrams, policy and procedures pertaining to the network
- Experience with Network design, implementation and management.
- Exposure to Switches, Routers, Firewalls etc... in a production environment. Specifically, working knowledge and experience with Cisco's ASR9K Routers, GSR Routers, 7600 series Routers, Layer 2/Layer 3 Switches.
- Familiarity with HP service Desk, Telcordia's Granite Inventory System (Xng), Microsoft Visio.
- Experience with the configuration, commissioning and SLAT (System Line-up and Testing) of Optical networks. Specific experience with Cisco's ONS15454 platform would be a plus.
- Good understanding of SONET, DWDM transport technologies. Specifically, Ciena gear specifically LH 1600, OME6500, OM5200 and Cisco's ONS15454
- Working knowledge of core and distributed MPLS and IP Backbone design and operations.
- Minimum 5 years experience in a technical support role for large scale networks, Network Engineering and/or Operations.
- Excellent analytical problem solving, technical writing, verbal communication, and interpersonal skills are required.
- Degree/diploma in a telecommunications and/or data communications field.
