Network and Systems Administrator
A global telecoms company are looking for a Network and Systems Administrator to work on a contract in New York. The Networks and Systems administrator is responsible for the configuration, administration, support and monitoring of all worldwide systems: Networks, Datacenters, Servers, Operating Systems, Databases, Citrix Farms, Servers, Antivirus, Active Directory, Lotus Notes, Backup Tape Drive and processes.The Networks and Systems administrator ensures optimal performance and availability of all systems and computer resources as needed by the business. Including all satellite offices in all global locations. The Networks and systems administrator must have a proactive stance towards supporting our infrastructure. Participation in 24/7 weekly on call is mandatory.
Essential Skills:
- 2-4 years of progressively increasing responsibilities in IT industry
- Bachelor degree or equivalent in computer science related field
- Good written and oral communications skills
- Good project and budget management skills
- Ability to manage several projects at the same time and assess priorities
- Ability to work with little supervision and report accordingly
- Successful in implementing worldwide infrastructure
- Ability to have a global overview
- Experience with Remote data centers
- Proficiency in all aspects of Systems Architecture and Administration
- Successful experience in designing worldwide infrastructure
- Experience in Systems and Networks administration
- Experience in Service Desk Management
- Good knowledge of systems management tools
- Technical experience in:
TCP/IP Networks, Network equipment (Cisco ios)
Citrix Xenapp 5, 6, 6.5
Desktop computers management (Dell) (patching, security, policies)
Active Directory Architecture, Windows Server 2003,2008
SAN management (EMC VNX 5300)
VMware ESX farm and server management
MS SQL 2005,2008 Oracle Databases
Server management (Dell)
Lotus Notes
Security
Asset Management
Remote access/SSL VPN
