IP Network Design Engineer
Primary Skill Requirement: CARRIER LEVEL NETWORK DESIGN EXPERIENCE, IPV4 & IPV6
Skills: CCIE, JNCIE, IPV6, L2VPN, L3VPN, OSPFv3, MPBGP, QOS/Traffic Engineering, MPLS (LDP & TDP), and VRFs. Operating Systems: Junos, IOS, IOS-XR, XOS.
Job Description:
National Network Operations Data Services network design engineer responsible for transport design development and integration to the MPLS transport infrastructure and national IPv4 & IPv6 VRF based network architecture.
Areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to:
- Customer requirements gathering and high level design review
- Low level transport design development and documentation
- Ensure design delivery within defined project scope, budget and approved timelines
- Ensure design consistency with documented standards configuration best practices
- Provide Engineering and Operational oversight and knowledge sharing
Qualifications:
Education/Training:
- BACHELORS DEGREE REQUIRED, preference in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering. MASTER DEGREE PREFERRED.
- CCIE and/or JNCIE certification preferred. Certification requirement commensurate with demonstrated experience during technical interview.
Technical Skills:
- Candidate must be accountable with demonstrated exposure to carrier grade provider networks.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in data networking and telecommunications, including working knowledge of TCP/IP (IPv4 & IPV6).
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience configuring Routers, Switches related network equipment.
- Solid understanding of Networking specific technologies: IPV6, L2VPN, L3VPN, OSPFv3, MPBGP, QOS/Traffic Engineering, MPLS (LDP & TDP), and VRFs. Operating Systems: Junos, IOS, IOS-XR, XOS.
- Experience with network design, configuration and troubleshooting.
- Ability to articulate structured network design, the OSI Interconnect model and how it relates to the design and deployment of structured networks
- Excellent PC skills on Windows, MS Office, Project, and Visio
