Technical QualificationsThe candidate must demonstrate a history of working with CommVault Simpana in an Enterprise environment in addition to meeting the following criteria with regard to Industry/Technical qualifications or certifications.
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or Engineering preferred.
Minimum of 5 years relevant work experience.
CommVault Certified Administrator ( Preferable).
SAN administration and Server Infrastructure experience.
Excellent documentation and communication skills.
Exceptional capacity for attention to detail
Key Responsibilities:Proactively identifies problems within the enterprise backup and recovery environment on various platforms and engages the appropriate technical resources for resolution in a timely manner
Provides documented, consistent and repeatable backup, recovery, and archival procedures.
Develops and implements business continuity practices for storage management.
Monitors the use and availability of storage resources.
Maintains and modifies backup and recovery procedures to meet high availability and mission critical business needs.
Generates periodic reports to review, analyse, and discuss CommVault utilisation with management and peers.
Contributes to technical architecture discussions to determine the most appropriate scalable model taking into consideration high availability failover and disaster recovery.
Serves as a subject matter expert to application development, systems administration and other technical/business staff in planning the resource requirements for systems under development.
The candidate will be responsible for daily administration and future expansion of an existing CommVault version 8.0 installation. The candidate's daily work will require him/her to manage appropriate backup data agents for MS Windows, Linux and Virtual Systems in addition to Application Agents for MS Active Directory, Exchange, SQL, SharePoint and Oracle as needed. The candidate must have a complete understanding of configuring Storage, Schedule and Subclient Policies and the ability to adjust as required. The candidate will also be required to troubleshoot failure notifications for any failed jobs with the appropriate Application teams.
The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, installing, configuring, upgrading and maintaining a CommVault Simpana multi-site installation. Being familiar with SAN technology and hardware associated with the enterprise backup and recovery environments is a must. This position is focused on managing the day to day CommVault operations including, coordinating backup schedules, performing system restores, working with Data Centre Specialists and participating in disaster recovery planning exercises. Complete familiarity with backup and recovery terminology is a must. Good understanding of Media Pool and Usage of media located on SAN Disk, Linux GFS, Tape and Deduplication Databases is important. Knowledge of other backup solutions such as Symantec Backup Exec and HP Data Protector would be a distinct advantage.
