International Trade Compliance group within Legal Department is responsible for implementing and managing the company's global export/import compliance programs developed by our client. This position would focus primarily on EMEA region export/import/trade compliance but would also take on responsibilities associated within export/import compliance issues as they may arise with particular transactions

Responsibilities:

  • Service on behalf of our client's Trade Compliance as liaison with our client, our client's third party compliance service providers and our client's customers to implement our client's trade compliance programs in EMEA region
  • Serve initially as the primary first-level "go-to" person for EMEA region export/import/trade compliance issues, working with our client's Trade Compliance and its service providers to formulate and implement problem fixes/workarounds for problem transactions.
  • Participate in our client's internal and external meetings and regularly provide export/import/trade compliance training to our client's internal teams and external customers
  • Service includes prompt and accurate responses to daily compliance questions from our client's EMEA personnel and service providers, and from Juniper customers, on topics such as product classification requirements, ECCN/ECL, CCATS, Licensing requirements, country of origin, product data sheets, customs value for non-revenue shipments and compliance data for non-products
  • Participate in the review and compliance-issue analysis of new and developing EMEA business opportunities (including review and screening of products/customers and service quote proposals, forecasts, non-standard pricing requests, Point Of Sale reports and other available sources of data) and participating in those licensing determinations and prioritizations to meet timely revenue recognition and achieve company revenue goals
  • Take responsibility for gathering and verifying accuracy of critical transactions, partner and end user data related to export licensing determinations and participate in conjunction with our client's service providers on screening and licensing determinations in such cases in order to minimize risks of delay in licensed shipments
  • Monitor daily quotes/orders/shipments/export hold status/license status and license condition fulfillment for EMEA transactions to anticipate potential violations and prevent actual violations.
  • Understand the duty of this position and job function - this position is required to report directly and promptly to Global Trade Compliance and Legal for any outstanding trade compliance issues to ensure export/import/trade compliance
  • Support Global Trade Compliance in the monitoring and review of export/import/trade control compliance performance by our client's EMEA distributors and resellers
  • Participate in export compliance screening and documentation processes for EMEA to ensure that the Export Compliance program in EMEA region is ready and able to successfully support any enforcement audit
  • Help monitor EMEA compliance to spot opportunities for improvement in such processes and procedures and participating in the development and implementation of such improvements

Qualifications

  • 8+ years in highly globalized high-technology company dealing in networking/computer equipment and software.
  • BA, BS Degree
  • Must have fluency in English, with fluency in Arabic and Russian desirable
  • Must have at least a basic familiarity with global trade, global logistics, export/import regulatory requirements and end to end shipping process of EMEA
  • Must be willing to learn US export license rules and regulations of US, the EU member nations, United Arab Emirates and the CIS countries, with special emphasis on their application to encryption products
  • Would be located in either Dubai or Amsterdam
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong skills with Microsoft Office applications esp. Word, Excel, Visio and Powerpoint
  • Multi-national company experience in organizing and leading cross-functional projects through to completion
  • Must in general be accessible to internal/external customer/client/service provider base at off-hours to address emergency issues
  • Must be willing and able to interact effectively with others representing the principles and objectives of the Trade Compliance group in what is sometimes a stressful environment
  • Must have project management skill
