Senior Web Experience Designer

Our client is looking for a groundbreaking Senior Creative Designer to evolve their brand and user experience. The Senior Creative Designer will contribute to the design of branding and creative touch points across online and offline properties for the client.

If you have a strong track record of conceptualizing and creating rich and effective user experiences that result in sales conversions and advertising campaigns (digital ads, collateral, brochures, PowerPoint) and optimizing the online user experience properties (website and social network sites) then this opportunity is for you.

The Senior Web Experience Designer is a hands-on role that creates graphic prototypes of site experiences and web-based applications and isn't shy of production support when necessary. While always keeping mindful the implications their designs have on technical development, the position will design visual human experiences utilizing user-centered design principles. The position will help shape corporate standards and will have a talent for consistently delivering strong creative concepts that meet specific goals as defined by internal customers. This role will support incremental changes and multiple iterations of designs to meet project needs. Must be intimately familiar with the design process and capable of justifying design approaches with strong backing. The position will frequently interface with Web designers and programmers to implement designs. The position will also work closely with print creative designers and execute an integrated approach to design for online/offline material.

OVERVIEW:

  • Lead the creative design of all creative for the client including online and offline marketing with 60% focus on the online user experience.
  • Develop compelling creative concepts that meet the marketing and business objectives of the organization and that advance our brand strategy in a consistent way.
  • Manage multiple projects from concept through completion, delivering work on time and on budget at expected quality levels, even within tight timeframes.
  • Sell creative work across and up the organization, championing big ideas while hearing, accepting, and incorporating feedback from executives and internal constituents.
  • Maintain and evolve the look of the brand to become a respectable, fresh brand in the healthcare space.
  • Balance brand building vision with promotional, direct response business requirements.
  • Direct and inspire internal and external creative designers, copywriters, and production staff as necessary.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Strong aesthetic sense and intuitive understanding of what makes a truly great interactive experience
  • Passion to inspire great design and ideas in a team environment
  • Demonstrated ability to develop business building creative in a direct response environment
  • An extraordinary portfolio reflecting experiences in the interactive and offline spaces
  • At least 4 years of experience working with large-scale web sites, e-marketing, and advertising
  • Capacity to manage an extensive array of projects, ensuring that business needs are met while brand standards are honored
  • Knowledge of layouts, graphic fundamentals, typography and limitations of the web; must have the ability to storyboard or translate ideas to designers and developers
  • Strong working knowledge of experience design, brand development, interactive commerce and creative process
  • Print and web design capabilities: must know how to work in both media for integrated campaigns

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • B.A., B.FA. Or B.S. in Graphic Design or related field
  • 7+ years in professional design/web experience or equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • Strong portfolio of successful, large-scale web design projects
  • Ability to translate ideas and ambiguous creative briefs into strong visual concepts for the web
  • Ability and past history of working in a lead creative design role
  • Ability to broker differences and conflict well
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment - agency background a plus
  • Ability to think both creatively and strategically
  • Second to none skills in developing creative concepts for the web including corporate websites, application experiences, and extending designs to interactive tools and other web assets
  • Leadership and capability to drive all creative development in-house, without outsourcing to external agencies
  • Proven background in establishing corporate web standards
  • Strong presentation skills and ability to sell creative concepts to all levels of employees
  • Background in creating visual designs that meet cross browser compatibility targets, and understands technical implications of creative concepts
  • Strong skills in chopping creative designs into optimized site graphics for web Designers to build in HTML
  • Expert background in the creative process including needs analysis and requirements gathering to site mapping, wire framing and creative development
  • Strong focus on the user and passionate about the customer experience and usability
  • Adapt quickly and effectively to changing requirements
  • High level of self-motivation, innovation and imagination
  • Strong sense of teamwork and cooperation in a multi-state team environment

TECHNICAL SKILLS:

  • Adobe suite of design applications, including Photoshop, Illustrator. Dreamweaver and Flash a plus
  • Cross-browser compatibility, primarily with Microsoft Internet Explorer, Netscape, Safari, Firefox, Chrome
  • Knowledge of XHTML, CSS, XML
  • Experience with application design, wireframing, experience flows, and information architecture
  • Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio
  • Usability testing and persona development
  • Adobe Acrobat Writer
  • Macromedia
  • Silverlight, Action Script and JavaScript a plus
