Description
My client, a public sector organisation is seeking an Interim Head of Procurement to carry out the procurement strategy, mentor and nurture the team, and represent the procurement team within the wider authority.
Your key deliverables will be to:
- take responsibility for a large spend over a portfolio of categories
- monitor the teams performance, and over their continuing development
- oversee the provision of vlaue added procurement and commercial advice to the business
- embed procurement policy within the organisation
- play a central role in developing robust commercial relationships with key suppliers
Skills Required
- specialist knowledge of public sector procurement rules and regs
- good understanding of Government Procurement Services and partnering frameworks for procurement - ideally a minimum of 8 years experience within a strategic procurement deparmtent
- strong experience of heading a procurement function, ideally one within a local authority
- a track record of delivering savings to the bottom line
Qualifications Required
- ideally MCIPS qualified
- ideally Degree qualified
