Senior Windows Systems Engineer
Our client, a leading financial organisation is looking for a Senior Windows Systems Engineer. You will be in charge of contributing and validating technical design and test and launching scenarios in the context of IT initiatives ranging from large strategic programmes to smaller projects. As Senior Windows Systems Engineer you will also assume ownership responsibility for products and technologies implemented or to be considered. You will research and build strategy, define and document improvement, validate implementation and ensure support including documentation, procedures and contracts and monitoring (alerting, performance and capacity). You will work in collaboration with the Technical Domain Owner for the Windows domain to provide guidance and support, and provide third line production support.
Senior Windows Systems Engineer skills required:
- Fluent English and French
- Extensive Windows Systems Engineer experience, in IT environment
- VMware Virtualisation experience including vsphere 4 and 5
- Supporting and troubleshooting VMware hypervisors including console
- Have implemented virtualisation in environment with more than 500 virtual machines
- VMware key technologies experience including DRS, Vmotion, HA, Clustering, Shared datastores
- Windows Server operating systems knowledge including Windows 2003 and Windows 2008 R2
- Windows MSCS, Directory Services, Active Directory (GPOs, ADAM, Security Structure)
- IP Networking: DNS, WINS, DHCP
- Ideally experienced with any of the following: Vcloud director, Microsoft Virtualisation technology MS HyperV, EMC Fibre Channel Storage Solutions (Symetrix, Vmax), EMS NAS storage solutions (Vnx, Clarion), Cisco Nexus switching and related network virtualization solutions, Monitoring (IBM Tivoli), File and Print services, Software distribution, Antivirus (MCAfee), Backup (Tivoly Storage Manager), Scripting (Powershell, VBS, Perl), Remote control, HP Server Hardware (Rackable, Blades, management tooling)
