Our client is a recognized leader in their industry and has acquired another software company with about 30 developers and systems that need to be modified to work inside our client's environment.  Our client is bringing a formalized QA process to where there has been none to date.

We are looking for three contract QA's to facilitate in the effort.  QA's senior enough to know what questions to ask to get the job done right.  Someone with the initiative to get things done instead of sitting around waiting for direction.  There are a mix of Client Server and web-based applications developed using Microsoft tools and technologies that handle Terabytes of data.  The expected duration is 3-6 months, and the top one or two QA of the three will likely be converted to full-time.

ROLE:
The Quality Assurance Tester will be working with the development team and business users to perform QA testing based on documented business requirements.

• Apply a thorough understanding of SDLC and SQA methodology, the QA Tester creates and maintains test plans and scripts, and carries out hands on testing efforts both manually and using automated test tools to exercise software testing
• The QA Tester creates and updates defect tracking logs and works with development teams and users to ensure that all defects are resolved
• Assist in the identification of QA tasks and associated level of effort
• Prepare and execute acceptance testing of new or revised modules
• Provide feedback to the development group on usability, functionality and quality of user experience

REQUIRED

• Strong QA Analytical and Logical Skills
• Strong Data Analysis Skills
• Strong SQL Scripting background
• SQL database testing
• Able to write code (scripts) in QTP (instead of just the record/play features of QTP)
• Automation, Performance Testing and DB testing is a MUST
• Ability to manage competing priorities on an ongoing basis
• Ability to negotiate priorities and resolve conflict
• Bachelors in Computer Science or equivalent field

Bonus points:

• Strong VBScripting
• Hand on experience with QTP and Automation Testing
