Our super high-visibility client has a fantastic contract opening for a Senior Software Engineer to design, develop, and document software components. This candidate will collaborate to define requirements and guide partner organizations through the development process for new or enhanced generic game engines and tools that satisfy requirements of multiple parties.
OVERVIEW:
- Develops, maintains and documents web and games server software components
- Interfaces with organizations to define requirements and schedules for technologies
- Provides maintenance support and assists with updates to existing game/web technologies
- Interfaces with external vendors to coordinate integration of technologies
- Researches third-party technologies for application to internal requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 3-5 years experience or equivalent expertise
- Must have at least 2 years in Server Side programming on socket server(s) for gaming
- Experience developing C/C++ applications in Linux, Apache, MySQL
- Requirements gathering and process execution skills
- Expertise in Server Side web application development languages such as Java, JSP, Servlets, SQL
- Knowledge of Internet protocols and standards such as HTTP
- Full understanding of TCP and UDP including coding Server/Socket applications in Java and C++
- Experience with CVS, SVN
- Ability to coordinate with other organizations for requirements gathering and technology and process evangelism purposes
- Ability to recognize common user requirements and to design or recommend generic software solutions to meet them
- Ability to work with high degree of independence
- Ability to provide technical leadership and guidance to other engineers and technical personnel
- Ability to recommend technology platforms and designs and implement system level Internet solutions
- Bachelor's Degree in engineering discipline or equivalent experience, Computer Science degree preferred
This contract is expected to be 7 months in duration.
