Our Client is looking for a Senior Data Architect to help design and create the future of data analysis software. Our comprehensive software platform is used to visually and interactively analyze data to find trends, outliers, and anomalies.

Our customers are found in many different types of business; pharmaceutical research, energy exploration, electronics manufacturing, finance, and government. Client's product is used for analysing anything from drug research data to sales figures.

The engineering team in Seattle includes software architects, developers, quality control engineers, user experience designers, and project managers. The group is responsible for developing world leading products working with the latest technologies.

Duties and Responsibilities:

As a member of the data adapter development team, you will be working on the design and implementation of modules to connect the product's analytics environment to a number of data providers such as; relational databases, data warehouses, and NoSQL storage. Working as part of a multi-national team you should have a thorough understanding of data access technologies, metadata discovery, performance tuning, and implementing security-related functionality.

Specialized knowledge and Skills:

  • Understand the balance of feature development, business case, time-to-market, and make trade-offs where appropriate.
  • Deep understanding of Teradata-specific skills, including SQL, database design, benchmarking and performance, TD utilities, and in-database technologies including UDF's and stored procedures.
  • Experience with Exadata and SSAS
  • Expert knowledge of C#/.NET.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to communicate design/architectural concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience in commercial software development, including all stages of the software development life cycle. Experience with Agile methodologies a plus.
  • Strong time management and organization skills. Self-directed. 

Qualifications:

  • Master's or PhD in Computer Science or equivalent. (PhD strongly preferred)
  • 10+ years of professional software engineering experience.
  • 5 years' experience minimum in an architectural role with demonstrated ability leading the delivery of major software releases.
