Scope of Work:
This position will provide technical support in the execution and maintenance of the IP, MPLS (Multi Protocol Label Switching (MPLS), PIP (Peerless IP), and Ethernet production networks. Follows proven processes to ensure the quality of new IP configurations does not negatively impact our customers, perform logical layer testing, fault isolation, and service turn-up using proprietary and vendor network management tools. The candidate should have a thorough understanding of telephony principles, routing protocols such as static, BGP, EIGRP and OSPF, and for value add services such as class of service (COS), multipath, and multicast. The ideal candidate would have experience with Cisco 7500 series, Cisco Gigabit Switch Router, or Cisco Core Switching Router-1, and an understanding of multi-layer switching. Juniper Router experience is a plus. Interacts directly with customers to troubleshoot and resolve problems in order to stabilize and optimize the network to meet customer requirements.

Responsibility:
The candidate within Customer and Network Delivery will:
Perform moderately complex configuration changes on Provider Edge Cisco Routers. Provide first level and second level assistance for trouble resolution. Reviews customer network designs to ensure feature functionality requirements are accurate. Perform logical layer testing. Follow and execute operating procedures when applicable. Ensure completed assignments are documented appropriately resolved. Verify all systems accurately reflect customers configurations and designs. Assist with ensuring all impacted organizations are coordinated with and represented.

Qualifications:
Skills, Experience and Education:
Current Cisco Certification; minimum of CCNA B.S. in Technical Field plus a minimum of 2 years applicable experience in telecommunications switching. Applied knowledge of Cisco Router configurations, test and turn-up of complex IP services Applied knowledge and understanding of fractional T1 through OC192 theory, fault isolation and service restoral Experience using general office applications in order to perform work assignments. Excellent interpersonal, presentation, written and oral communication skills. Proven track record of meeting objectives. Must be willing to work in a 24x7 on call environment.
