Description
Reporting to AVP - They are looking for a Senior Associate in its Alternative Investment Solutions Division.
The individual will work in the Real Estate Fund Services department as an investment controller primarily supporting German real estate deals held within a Luxembourg-based fund vehicle.
The fund vehicle is managed by one of the largest real estate companies in the world.
Additionally, there may be scope within the role to work on other funds and deals for the same client. The role is primarily a financial control, accounting supervision and reporting, ensuring that the books and records of the entities holding the real estate assets are accurate as well as providing materials for investor reporting.
Description
- Coordinate various external property managers and corporate accountants to ensure financial reporting information is correctly prepared on a regular basis.
- Prepare quarterly and annual financial statements and footnotes. Address and resolve audit enquiries from external auditors during year-end audit.
- Support Fund controller team based in Luxembourg in the preparation of quarterly Fund consolidated accounts.
- Participate with client asset management team and fund controlling team on the preparation of quarterly business reporting for Fund investors.
- Prepare debt compliance reporting related to external financing granted to portfolio entities.
- Oversee liquidity position including bank reconciliations and update cash projections in cooperation with asset management team.
- Prepare and coordinate cash contributions and distribution between the Fund and local entities.
- Liaise with client and external advisors to ensure portfolio entities fulfil legal, tax and statutory obligations.
- Ensure documentation of legal, accounting and operational processes is clear and concise.
- Participate in the implementation of new reporting, compliance or control processes requested by the client.
- Prepare various workpaper and financial data analyses based on requests from the client.
- Support client acquisition and asset manager teams for the complete life cycle of the deals.
Essential Experience
- Ability to write and speak fluent German and English is key.
- Auditing or financial analysis experience required and experience with Real Estate fund accounting and reporting is a plus.
- A self starter who is well organized, detailed oriented, and analytical individual.
Desired Products/Systems Experience
- Must be computer literate (knowledge of Excel is key; knowledge of databases and financial modelling desired).
Education
- Degree in Accounting or Finance
YOU MUST HAVE REAL ESTATE FUNDS EXPERIENCE AND HAVE THE ABILITY TO WRITE & SPEAK BOTH GERMAN & ENGLISH.
