Sr. QA Engineer-Westlake Village (6+ month contract)
Performance Testing participates in the Quality Assurance life cycle with a focus on load and performance test activities surrounding our clients set of business services. The qualified candidate will be a highly-motivated individual who participates in the software development project life cycle from analysis to production implementation. An emphasis on data analysis, system infrastructure and performance test system architecture will be required to define the appropriate data profiles to conduct comprehensive performance and load testing with auditable results. In addition, this person will provide assistance in ongoing efforts to enhance our test framework and simplify data collection and visibility.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop a scalable performance and load test infrastructure from requirements development through architectural design and implementation.
- Execute and maintain performance and load test processes, procedures and test infrastructure.
- Develop test strategies, plans, metrics extraction and results analysis documentation
- Maintain a detailed understanding of system component interaction and data relationships to effectively build and execute tests and analyze results.
- Participate in planning discussions with Development and QA teams
- Adhere to all policies and procedures concerning all confidential information including but not limited to internal use and restricted information, including Protected Consumer Information (PCI) and Protected Health Information (PHI)
- Adhere to all Company Health and Safety policies and procedures
- Administer duties as defined by the clients performance review plan within the required deadlines
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor
REQUIREMENTS:
- 5+ years of software quality assurance test experience with a minimum of 3 years focused performance testing experience with an emphasis on test infrastructure development
- Extensive performance testing
- .NET
- Experience designing and developing an automated performance and load test system from the ground up.
- Working knowledge of load generation and measurement software
- In-depth experience with performance metrics extraction and reporting tools
- Experience creating test plans, test cases and scripts
- Knowledge of the entire software development process (SDLC)
- Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills in a technical environment
- Self-motivated, requiring minimal oversight
- Good team player with the ability to handle multiple concurrent priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
- Bachelors degree in a related technical field or equivalent education/work experience
PREFERRED:
- BA/BS or graduate degree in software engineering/computer science
- Database knowledge (MS SQL Server); able to write complex SQL queries and understand data relationships
